Frequently Asked Questions
Workshop Visits
Do I need to book an appointment before visiting the workshop?
Yes, an appointment is strictly required for any visit. This workshop is a dedicated, independent one-man operation. Everything from customer service, emails, and website management to the actual precision shaping and laminating of the boards is handled entirely by a single person.
Critical technical stages, such as the vacuum-lamination of a wing foilboard, require absolute focus, take over an hour, and cannot be interrupted under any circumstances once they begin. To ensure you don’t end up waiting outside a locked door, please always reach out beforehand via WhatsApp or email to schedule your visit. We will be happy to set up a time dedicated completely to you!
Custom Order & Production Process
Do I need to make the payment immediately when ordering?
No, you don’t have to. Under the description of every board model, you’ll find a direct inquiry section. If you have doubts about which model, size, or construction will fit your riding style and needs best, we highly recommend contacting us via email first. Once we talk and figure out exactly what you need, you can proceed with the payment smoothly.
Can I pay the deposit even if I haven’t finalized my board details yet?
Absolutely, and many riders choose to do exactly that. Because our boards are custom-built for each individual client, lead times fluctuate depending on the season and our current workload. Making the 50% deposit secures your slot in our production calendar immediately, even if you aren’t completely sure about the final design yet. This locks in your turnaround time while we work together to fine-tune the specs.
How does the custom board process work step-by-step?
- Initial Inquiry or Deposit: You can either send us a direct inquiry from the board’s product page to discuss your ideas, or pay the 50% deposit straight away to lock in your spot in our shaping queue.
- Design Consultation: Once your deposit clears (or your inquiry is processed), we will get in touch directly to map out your custom dimensions, volume, colors, construction layup, and fin/track setups.
- The “Point of No Return” (Preshape Order): We always contact you for a final green light before ordering your CNC preshape. Once the file is sent to the cutting machine, the shape, length, and volume are locked and can no longer be modified.
- Completion & Final Payment: Once the board goes through the cutting, delivery, and custom hand-lamination stages, we will contact you to settle the remaining 50% balance and arrange your preferred shipping method or shop pickup.
Can I change my board’s dimensions after placing an order?
Yes, but only before the CNC preshape is ordered. We will fine-tune everything together during our consultation, and we will give you a final heads-up before buying the materials. Once the file is sent to the cutting machine, the design is 100% locked.
How long will it take to get my custom board?
Because our process relies on precision CNC preshapes that are later finished and laminated by hand in our workshop, the timeline is divided into two stages once your design is finalized:
- Preshape & Shipping (approx. 15 days): It typically takes around 7 days for the blank to be precision-cut, and another 7 days for it to be shipped to our workshop.
- Workshop Production (approx. 15 days): Once the foam arrives at our facility, the custom shaping finish, structural reinforcements, and lamination process take about 15 days.
Please note that these timelines are estimates and can fluctuate depending on the season, holidays, or machine queues. However, we keep every client individually updated on the exact progress of their board.
Shipping, Pickup & Pricing
Is shipping included in the website price?
No. The prices shown on our website cover the board construction only. Because shipping rates depend on the final board size, weight, box dimensions, and your delivery address, shipping costs are calculated and invoiced separately once the board is finished.
Can I pick up my board directly at the shop?
Absolutely! If you live nearby or want to make a trip out of it, you can select “In-Store Pickup” when we notify you that the board is ready. Just remember to schedule an appointment with us before heading over so we can have your board prepped and ready for you!
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we can ship our boards worldwide. Please note that international orders may be subject to local import duties, taxes, or customs fees upon arrival, which are the sole responsibility of the customer.
Board Repairs (“Board Surgery”)
How can I get a quote for a ding repair?
Bringing your gear directly to the workshop is always the best way for us to inspect the damage and give you an accurate assessment. (Just remember to send a quick WhatsApp or email to lock in an appointment before dropping by!) If you can’t make it to the shop right away, you can also send us high-resolution photos from multiple angles via email or WhatsApp for a free, no-obligation quote.
Will my repair look completely invisible?
Our ultimate goal is absolute structural integrity and a flawless, hydrodynamic touch—when you run your hand over the repair, it will feel completely smooth and seamless. However, because UV exposure and aging naturally change a board’s color over time (sun-tanning), exact resin color-matching on a used board is practically impossible. We focus on restoring 100% of the board’s strength and offer professional respray options if you want a full aesthetic refresh.
